Over five engaging sessions, our online vellie-making course takes you step-by-step through the entire process of designing and making traditional leather vellies (veldskoene). You'll learn design, sketching, pattern drafting, costing, and professional shoemaking techniques through fun, beginner-friendly lessons.
Once you've completed the online design component, you'll move on to the practical side of the course. You can either join us in our Johannesburg or Cape Town studio for a 2-day hands-on vellie-making workshop, included in your course fees at no additional cost, or, if you're unable to travel, we'll courier your complete vellie-making kit directly to your door.
You'll then follow our detailed step-by-step video tutorials to make your own pair of leather vellies from home, at your own pace.
Whichever option you choose, you'll gain the same practical shoemaking skills and finish the course having designed and handcrafted your own pair of genuine leather vellies. - 1x Leather Upper (Semi-Assembled)
- 1 pair of soles
- 1 x insole sheeting
- 1x thermoplastic stiffening
- 250ml Contact Adhesive
- 250ml Sole Glue
- Tack nails
- 1x pair Laces
- Punching Tool & Saddle Needles with Thread

What do I need to the course?
What would you need for the course?
if you have access to a sewing machine, that would be great, but if not, then simply let us know, and we will stitch the shoe uppers together for you
We have included a leather upper, and handsticthing will be required and we will teach you step by step how to do this step.
