Over the course of 5 days, we’ll dive deep into the world of leather and other shoe materials, showing you how to choose and customize them based on the style and feel you want. You’ll have the unique opportunity to decide what goes into your shoe—whether you prefer a firm, soft, or stretchy fit, the choice is yours. Let your creativity run wild! While we provide guidance, there are no limits on the colors you can choose, so you can finally the shoes you’ve always dreamed of but could never find. Designing a Sandal: By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with a simple sandal designed entirely by you. We’ll teach you all the principles of sandal design, ensuring you have both the knowledge and the hands-on experience to create your perfect pair. Handmade Soles with Randing and Unit Soles: These soles are handmade, some with randing—never heard of it? No problem! In this workshop, we'll break down everything you need to know about this key shoe construction technique. Plus, you’ll learn how to create regular soles at home and work with unit soles for a professional finish! Cutting & Attaching: We’ll show you how to cut materials precisely and attach them flawlessly to your shoe. Toe Shape :You get to pick your toe shape! Choose between pointed, almond, or round, The Last (Foot Mold): We’ll introduce you to the different types of lasts used in shoemaking and how they impact fit and style. Glue Mastery: Learn about the different types of glues used in various parts of shoe construction and how to apply them like a pro for strong, durable bonds. Construction (Where the Fun Begins): Assembling a shoe is like piecing together a puzzle. We’ll guide you through each step, ensuring you have fun while learning. Our small class sizes allow us to give everyone the one-on-one attention they need, so if you ever need extra help, one of our instructors will sit with you and guide you through the process. No one gets left behind! Brogue Punching: With the derby style, you can go sleek and modern or keep it classic with some traditional brogue punching.
